Matt Hasselbeck is an seasoned NFL veteran, who is still considered one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has led the Seahawks to the Super Bowl and earned three trips to the Pro Bowl, ranking in the NFC's top five in attempts (562), completions (352), yards (3,966), TDs (28) and passer rating (91.4) in 2007.
Team Info
The Seahawks began playing in the NFL as an expansion team in 1976 and after posting five losing seasons in their first seven years, Seattle made the playoffs in 1983. After reaching the playoffs in 2003 and 2004 the Seahawks finally fulfilled their potential in 2005, posting an NFC-best 13-3 record and using home field advantage to qualify for the Super Bowl. However, their season ended in frustration after they lost to Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XL. The Seahawks have won the NFC West title in four of the past five seasons but relinquished their title to the Arizona Cardinals in 2008. They will look to return to form in 2009 under new head coach Jim Mora, and with the signing of high-profile free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh who will help bolster the team's pass offense.
